Hi Thomas: In another thread you mentioned that bridging doubles the distortion, which I believe I had read before but didn't pay much attention to it. I currently have a BFD feeding my 2500 in bridge mode with series/parallel wiring to 4 Atlas 15's to give me 4 ohms. I have a pretty acceptable FR set up and don't relish the thought of re EQ'ing, since I do it manually, with no programs such as REQ, etc.. In your opinion, would the reduced distortion be worth running the amp in stereo and losing a fair amount of headroom, and will this possibly dictate EQ'ing once again? I guess I can do it and see, but if your answer is "possibly" versus "absolutely", I'm not sure I want hassle with it. I know My mileage may vary. Thanx, Harold

Hi,
The increased distortion shouldn't be a surprise. When the channels of any amp are strapped the distortion is summed.
The audibility of distortion in low bass frequencies is of some debate..so only experimenting with your system will answer your question.
EQ settings shouldn't change if you go from a bridged to unbridged amp.

Thank you Thomas. It was the possibility of having to EQ again that I was dreading. I'll try stereo and see how it works out.

When you EQ'd did you use REW?
You can directly measure your IB's distortion using REW and manual test tones using Frequency follows cursor.

Regarding bridged mode on ep2500
- do you flip jumper 6 and 7? - is it normal for the 2 yellow signal lights to flash differently? What I'm seeing is the right light come on first and it stays solid more than the left - is the clip limiter a good idea?
