Hi All- I'm finishing up my home theater and considering amplification options. I'll have 4 FI Q.18's with single 4ohm coils. I'll be running them in stereo pairs, so each pair of subwoofers will have their own channel of amplification. I'm purchasing an ATI 3007 7 channel amplifier for the room, and will have a couple extra channels I could dedicate to the subs. Each channel on the amp is rated for 300W at 8ohms and 450W at 4ohms. The amp is stable into any load but only rated for 4-16 ohm operation. www.ati-amp.com/manuals/powerampspecs.pdfThe Q.18's have 4 ohm coils and are rated for 1000WRMS. Since I'm connecting the drivers in pairs, I can either connect in parallel for 2ohms or series for 8 ohm load. I'm wondering if I'm providing enough juice with 300w to an 8ohm load with the ATI amp, or am I better off getting a higher power pro-amp like the behringer 2500? Sound quality counts, as does volume. My room size is approx 14x22x8.5. Thanks, Roger.

Hi,
Unless the ati amp has multiple power cords going to different outlets it can't deliver the rated power to 7 channels. This isn't a problem with the amp it's a function of how much current a standard outlet can deliver...
That said, if it's in the budget to get a EP2500 you'll have a better overall setup using one.
