Thomas, I have finally purchased 4 of the FI IB18's for my IB build and I recently purchased the F-1200TS Face audio amplifier. Now I need to purchase the EQ. I have read that the DSP1124 is commonly used. But in this link ibsubwoofers.proboards51.com/index.cgi?board=q&action=display&thread=1126642658 you recommend using the DEQ2496, but that is supposed to be more for a stand alone testing setup. I already own a lap top. And I am looking into purchasing the Rolls mp13 and ECM8000 mic and a external usb full duplex sound card (not sure which one yet but any suggestions would be helpful) so I can perform room sweeps. So I would not use the DEQ for that purpose. Is the auto eq function worth spending the extra money?

For subwoofer use only the DEQ is overkill.
If you only need one bank of settings get the FBQ2496, it's far easier to program and more flexible than the DSP1124P.
If you want multiple banks of settings, ie, one for HT, another for music, etc, get the DSP1124P.
For an external sound card I use the M-Audio USB pre. It's has a built-in mic pre so you won't need the Rolls.

Great. I will probably get the FBQ2496 since I should only need one bank of settings. I really only plan to "tune" the room once and leave it be. I don't see the need to adjust the settings once I get a decent or flat(hopefully) response.
And I was looking at the M-audio card but not certain if the mic pre would work for this use. Good to know. I will go that route also.
Thanks

buy the M-Audio Moble Pre USB...it's an all in one unit.
