Would there be a problem wiring a 4 ohm sub and an 8 ohm sub together in parallel? I am talking about subs that are identical in every other way. From what I can tell it would give you a 2.66 ohm load overall, but I wonder if each sub would be playing exactly the same or if this would cause them to be off.
Anyone?

Yes, they would be "off". The 4 ohm woofer would be driven by twice as much current as the 8 ohm woofer. If they were otherwise identical then that means twice the magnetic field strength (one woofer working twice as hard as the other). But I wonder if there are maybe even more differences between them than just the impedence.

This can be bad or good, depending on the situation. There may be more differences, as well.
