I was reading an article about making IB's for organ buffs, and i read that in order to hear certain parts of the note, you have to have a room at least as long as half a wavelength of that particular frequency.... I haven't been able to understand, does this factor srtongly affect bass reproduction in a noticable way?

There are headphones that can easily reproduce 20Hz information.
I can place a microphone in the outlet of my big IB and measure 5Hz.
I think that pretty much debunks some of the false information on that website.
If one is a full wavelength away from the source, the amplitude of the wave will be higher = louder than if one is closer and hearing a fraction of it.

The guy must not listen to music in his car . . . (either that or he never made the connection, or his car radio has one 4 inch speaker).
