I am new with IB's
Presently I have an inexpensive HT set into the corner of my Room.
I have had multiple sub configurations but they all take up space I don't have. A 12 inch bandpass box takes up floor space I no longer have.
I have two 12" woofers that will do 20Hz in a box and do lower in open air ( or so the specs say)
The QTS is .44 and each will handle about 100Watts in a box.
I was going to vent a 4th order bandpass box into the room from the laundry and after reading here kinda changed my mind.
I was thinking of using the two 12" and mounting them in the wall using the laundry as the "box".
the mounting array box is 25 long and 13 high and a depth on the face is 5" this will attach to the wall in the laundry room venting through to the HT room partly behind the corner unit and partly alongside. The side of the unit is about 4" from the wall on each of the 45 degree sides.
the Grill I bought is 24 X 8 so the face of the box will need to shrunk a bit with some 2x2's ( one on top one on the bottom inside) to blow throught the vent.
The built in amp is somewhat overrated at 200Watts into 3 Ohms
I will be using that 200 Watts into 4 ohms (2X8 parallel).
I have a small dual 6" isobarik box in the corner behind the unit at present and it seems to blend well ( go figure)
the Room is about 300 Sq feet max and the room does have a door leading to the laundry room. which closes pretty tight. the listening area is much closer to the IB than the door I also have a light fixture (2 x 4 ft) with a plexi lens in the ceiling that shares the space (volume ) with the laundry room but it is over by the door as well.
So Should I finish my IB idea or abandon it and use the two drivers in a Large tuned bandpass box vented into the room.
Just working with what I got and making the best of it.
Thanks
