I'd throw up a small picture of it but I don't think I can do that here. Sure you can. The row of icons above any message reply box that has the -> arrow icon. The 4rd icon is a post card. Click on it and paste the URL of a hosted image between the brackets. The software doesn't support attachments.

Ok, thanks Tom. Oh, and please correct me if I'm getting out of hand here by posting info like this. If there are 'vendor' rules I will certainly abide by them. Here it is: Best regards, Mark

The vendor rules here are very complicated..... 1) company URL in signature 2) owners real name in signature 3) a real email addy must be available (not gmail/hotmail/yahoo/etc) 4) no 'over the top' behavior (meaning posting product announcements, product update information, product specs, product pictures, stock status/availability, etc., is encouraged..... ). Blatant ungentlemanly behavior isn't permitted.....

mark I think he was saying "your fine" he just doesn't want flame wars and dishonost posting by vendors. I don't think anyone could be offended or mad at your posts. You are not spamming, posting fake consumer reviews, or trash talking other companies.
Heck, we are all pretty excited by your products.

What you've been posting all along is what's encouraged. That's the kind of information we want. What I won't tolerate is over-the-top hyping, and flame wars, bashing, etc.

With the one way Xmax of 30mm, the FS 17 Hz, the Qts 0.44 and your prices you won't be able to keep them babies in stock! It's almost as if the Avalanches are reborn.

Ah, Ok, gotcha. Whew! Wasn't sure there for a minute... Yeah, 30mm is the capability of the motor. These days, it doesn't sound like a heck of a lot given other monsters I've seen. But we are on a budget here aren't we? I'll be shipping this one down for DUMAX tests to confirm everything... Best, Mark

Mark, is the pricing on this IB driver going to be similar to your other 18" offerings? If so, I'm very interested in picking up a set of four when they're ready.
Hmm, come to think of it, are you going to want/need any beta testers?

Well, the proof will be in the pudding. We'll see how it shapes up to be.
Jud, for the pricing, I'm affraid not. Based on the requests and recommendations from the folks here, the resulting product price skyrocketed (as compared to the MJ-18). It will however, still be one of the lowest priced displacement-per-dollar values out there though <not a sales pitch>.
And yes, since I don't have an IB setup here, I would be looking for someone to test them out. I can ask for two samples to be made up for such a test.
We'll chat more as time goes on...
Best, Mark

Based on the requests and recommendations from the folks here, the resulting product price skyrocketed (as compared to the MJ-18). I figured as much. With the big increase in xmax, they're bound to be worth the extra money, but I might have to stick to the older line due to budget restrictions (for now). I'm about ready to start getting serious about my IB install. It's going to be a 4 x 18" manifold, and I'm probably going to buy 4 of your MJ-18s as soon as I verify I can fit the manifold where I want to put it. I could very easily A-B a pair of the MJ-18s vs. a pair of these new IB drivers assuming the cutout is the same.

The MJ18 was too similar to the AEIB15s to warrant the upgrade to 18"s. With the new Xmax and matching Fs a lot of 15" driver owners are going to be chewing their nails wondering what to do.

I should add, guys, that the new unit probably won't be ready until next year. It was premature of me to post this sort of info so soon - my apologies.
Best regards, Mark

No need to apologize, Mark. I doubt I'll have a manifold designed, built, and ready to be tested until next year anyways.

Got more in the other day, along with the 4 Ohm version and a batch of 15" units. The 18" prototype I was talking about earlier wasn't ready when the shipment left so it will have to wait for awhile. Here are some preliminary specs on the prototype (it was designed for IB / very large enclosures): Re - 7.2 Ohm Qts - 0.44 BL - 22.4 Fs - 17Hz Mms - 321g Vas - 549l SPL - 89db Xmax - 30mm I'd throw up a small picture of it but I don't think I can do that here. Best, Mark If and when this goes into production, I would hve to consider it. Those are tasty #s so far.
